“Stay Motivated”

Welcome Back

Hello and thank you for reading today’s podcast. My name is Tom, I am the host and creator of The Social Seed.
Let me ask you a question “would you like to have a better life, you just don’t know how to get it?
What if I told you that you can have it…you only have to dream it and apply the knowledge you already possess to live it!

With The Social Seed podcast I help you search within yourself, see your vision and become the person you are destined to be!

Every week I post a piece of literature I feel will inspire your mind, feed your soul and elevate –your life!

I wrote a poem titled the “Legend”
Which has become my mantra.

Be the Bee buzzing around, pollinating people with knowledge abound, creating fruit for all to feed, curing the world with a social seed.”

For this poem to become a legend I need you to also be the Bee – to inspire individuals with these weekly words of wisdom, to help them create a more happy and productive life. More importantly -a better world!

Current Events

I was checking the Port Authority hours for my return on Monday.

Welcome back to this week’s Current Events. Last Saturday I had arrived and checked in to Customs and Immigration in Curacao. That night I was able to catch up on sleep, and enjoy our weekly Sunday tradition of homemade pancakes. It was a nice lazy day. On Monday it was time to hit the road and catch the 6A Bus back to Wilamstad and check in with Port Authority. This time the short-cut gate was open and I walked straight to Port Authority in about 10 minutes. After checking in I travveled back down the island and was home before lunch. Finally completely legal in Curacao. This week’s mission was all about figuring out the main questions every sailor has when you get to a new port.

• Where is a good dinghy dock?
• Where do I get rid of garbage?
• How do I get groceries?
• Where is the local sailor hangout?

We find most of the information on Navionics where other sailors have pinned important points of interest or we ask other sailors when we meet them, as-well-as pass along the information when we meet new sailors. We found the Visserij haven dinghy dock is good, it has a 24 hour guard and big green garbage containers answering two of our questions. That’s super nice. Also at this marina there is a Vruegdenhil courtesy bus on Mondays and Thursdays at 08:30 that brings sailors for free to the supermarket. The final question was answered when we found the restaurant that is near the rotary where we catch the bus, at the top of the street, which is really close and has happy-hour starting at 17:00. This is where some of the local sailors hangout and we can exchange stories and information.

This is where I will leave off for this week. Let’s listen to today’s Words of Wisdom and see if it is the seed that will grow inside of you and inspire – your life

Words Of Wisdom

This day is priceless. All the money in the world will not bring it back again. And so, I seize it and I savor it and I honor it. This day, I fill my mind with big dreams so there is no space for petty doubts. I replace the psychology of can’t with the mentality of can. And I remember that my greatest growth lies at the jagged edges of my highest limits. This day, I’ll recall that until my mission becomes my obsession, my gifts will never become my glory. And until my hunger to serve transcends the insecurities of my self, I’ll miss the grand chance of these precious hours to be a vehicle for helpfulness. This day, I reload my devotion to avoid a counterfeit nobility, staying sincere, humble—with both feet on this sacred ground. Should naysayers and bad actors throw rocks at me, I reply with kindness and love in the face of their bad behavior—even if they don’t deserve it. Should critics make fun of me—as they always have since I was a kid—I’ll take the rocks they throw at me and make them into monuments of mastery. And should anyone call me strange, as they often do, I’ll smile with the blatant wisdom stuck deep in my heart that it’s only misfits, oddballs and eccentrics that change our world. Being different is really cool. And eccentricity is very hip.”

The Seed

These Words of Wisdom are inspirational guidelines, direction and support to help a person through the challenges of personal growth. As I read through the writng, when I came to each new sentence, I closed my eyes and recited and thought about the words I had just read, “This day is priceless. All the money in the world will not bring it back again; I can’t buy today back, I thought, so I asked myself “what are you going to do today to make it memorable, to make it great?” What are you going to do tomorrow? I think I would appreciate my days more if I woke up every morning and asked that question, ” what am I going to do today to make it memorable, to make it great?” The next line, “I fill my mind with big dreams so there is no space for petty doubts”; Don’t think about what you perceive to be stopping you, dream big and figure a way to get to where or what you want. Your mind is a wonderful creative tool to use to figure situations out. Don’t give up when you can’t figure something out on the first try. This brings us to the word “can’t”; I love getting rid of the apostrophe and “T” from the word can’t – you can, you really can, you just need motivation and the belief that you can accomplish what you are willing to give a unstoppable effort towards. “And I remember that my greatest growth lies at the jagged edges of my highest limits.” By pressing yourself to learn, do or understand something new, the edges will be jagged, the transition will probably not be smooth, but eventually like everything else you do daily; it will become easier and your mind and your abilities will grow. All of which will help you to achieve new summits. “This day, I’ll recall that until my mission becomes my obsession, my gifts will never become my glory.” To really feel and understand, until you let your mission become your obsession, you’ll never obtain your greatest abilities. By concentrating your efforts on something you believe in and want to do, you’ll be able to give full effort and sharpen your skills and talents to master it. You’re mind will open up your world to new endless ideas and positive options that will help you realize your true talents and abilities. “Should critics make fun of me—as they always have since I was a kid—I’ll take the rocks they throw at me and make them into monuments of mastery”. All through life there are going to be critics or people who just don’t like you, take their criticism and turn it into your  mastery, let what would break many people down and use it to build you – make it the fuel that feeds your desire from within to produce mastery in your field or your idea. Don’t worry about being yourself, this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t be aware of your thoughts or actions, but being different may be out of the ordinary, but who likes ordinary, so be yourself, stay motivated and use all that is around you to build the person you are meant to be!
